Measuring Success: The “Taste Triangle”

3. Iteration Compression (Synthesis) AI generates infinite noise. A great Director moves from “Chaos” (100 options) to “Clarity” (1 decision) quickly. We shouldn’t reward people for generating more ideas; we should reward them for converging on the right idea faster.

The Apprenticeship Crisis: A Warning

If we automate all the grunt work, how do juniors learn?

Traditionally, you developed intuition by doing the boring work. If we aren’t careful, we will raise a generation of workers who can prompt a model but can’t verify if the answer is true.

The fix? Simulation. Treat corporate training like flight school. Use AI to generate “disaster scenarios”—a PR crisis, a security breach, a bad dataset—and have juniors roleplay the response. They need to break things in simulation so they can learn to fix them in reality.

The risk of the next five years isn’t that AI will make humans obsolete. The risk is that organizations will accidentally design the humanity out of work.
